![]() Multiple CoD games have had abilities/ultimates built into the multiplayer. It's even a different U word! Huge difference. I mean plus this game will have Ultras as opposed to Ultimates. Ubisoft isn't creating XDefiant to compete with a side mode that hardly anyone plays in OW, that's the most asinine logic ever. Just because a game has deathmatch modes on the side does not mean that's the primary reason people play that game. I mean, never mind OW has deathmatch modes when you've got titles like "hero-based shooters" really driving your arguments. It’s equally as daft to create a pvp only free to play arena FPS using one of the most beloved and famous story-based franchises in existence. Would you make a “Madden 2022” PUBG clone? No. Has nothing to do with the style of game, has everything to do with the fact we have been begging for a new a splinter cell game, or any good TC related story based game. You’re missing the point of why everyone is so pissed. It basically says, “we don’t have confidence in ourselves to make a good game so we will put Tom’s name on it and maybe people will spend money on it.” ![]() If they wanted to make an arena shooter, then make one, slapping the TC name and references is a disgustingly blatant money grab. I have no problem with the intended style/genre of game, but it’s a complete slap in the face to the gamers that have supported and loved the TC series for decades. Taking Tom Clancy IP and making a (sorry, puked in my mouth a little bit) arena FPS is about equivalent to making “Skyrim 2: Truck Driving Simulator”. I was alluding to the notion that Blizzard and Ubi are doing the same thing: taking existing beloved franchises and creating game experiences antithetical to the concept of the franchise. Tom Clancy doesn't know you, nor does he care about you, nor does he care that he sold his name to make millions from the video game industry. When you know what people expect from a Tom Clancy game. Why exactly is XDefiant different? Because you don't personally like it? Other than that they are all different games with differing experiences. Splinter Cell, Rainbow Six / Siege (classic R6 games vs Siege are very different), The Division, Ghost Recon, etc.Īll these TC games are all shooter based and have some tactical elements, but that's about it. When you know what people expect from a Tom Clancy game.Įxcept we have quite a variety of TC games now that are very different from each other. HMMMMM very suspicious indeed, that you would know that, know what people expect from a Tom Clancy game, then call someone else out for contextual criticism. If not, I mean, it's pretty convenient for you to write that specific description, out of all the available options in the English language, when describing what you yourself know most people expect from a Tom Clancy game. I'd say tactical shooter, but close enough. >This isn't Splinter Cell, this isn't a realistic military simulator If you care to argue that point, I think the Tom Clancy in the title should be sufficient evidence. That would be accurate if not for the "Tom Clancy" part of "Tom Clancy's XDefiant." Pretty much defeats your point, since the context is a Tom Clancy game. >All criticism must be in context of what this game is trying to be. It's clear Ubisoft is catering to this market, which hardly has any direct competition.īR games are not part of this market, and Warzone caters to a completely different crowd. Activi$ion still pumps out annual CoD games with your standard modes like TDM, FFA, and SnD. It's a competitor to the standard Call of Duty multiplayer experience, which is fast-paced, arcade shooter, not the battle royale component, so this comment from you is completely meaningless. All criticism must be in context of what this game is trying to be.Īnd it's absolutely hilarious that you think this is going to be any sort of CoD competitor, especially in 2021 when CoD is mostly played as a battle royale. ![]() This isn't Splinter Cell, this isn't a realistic military simulator, it's an arcade, fast-paced first person shooter. ![]() The only "criticism" in this thread is, "This isn't the game I want", that's not criticism. (#spoiler "Subject") This is a spoiler with a subject If it violates any of the subreddit's existing rules. ![]()
